MONTEREY, TENNESSEE — April 8th, 2026 — Cold Corr of Monterey, a newly formed corrugated sheet producer and sister company of Cumberland Container, based in Monterey, Tennessee, has become the first company in the United States, third in the world, to order Interpac's patented cold corrugation technology. The milestone marks a significant step forward for the independent converting industry, bringing an innovative sheet production process to the American market for the first time.
Interpac's patented cold corrugation technology, an in-house, innovative, eco-friendly manufacturing process that produces corrugated board on a smaller scale without steam, high temperatures, or energy-intensive heating is uniquely suited for independent sheet converting plants.
Recently, Interpac's Chief Operating Officer Dale Harris and Operations Manager Colin Shaw traveled to Monterey to meet with Cold Corr leadership, tour the proposed installation site, and begin the planning process for the corrugator's positioning and layout.
Mark Jared, Director of Cold Corr of Monterey, commented:
"We are excited to be the first to bring cold corrugation technology to the United States. After visiting machines in operation in Germany and Canada, Cold Corr is convinced this technology will be a tremendous asset to independent converters. Having Dale and Colin here was an important first step in getting the positioning and layout of our cold corrugator right.
Cold Corr will serve Cumberland Container as a primary customer, alongside other specialty converters, delivering high-quality flat sheets and specialized corrugated products in a reliable and timely manner. As Cold Corr's anchor customer, Cumberland Container will benefit from a dedicated, proximate supply source — allowing it to continue growing its business and expanding into specialty products. Cumberland Container is already looking forward to receiving the first sheets Cold Corr produces."
During their visit, Dale and Colin toured the Cumberland Container facility, viewed the proposed Cold Corr installation site — which will operate as a dedicated, independent space within the Monterey location — and discussed logistics and the delivery process with Cold Corr leadership. While Cold Corr and Cumberland Container share a facility, the two companies operate as separate legal entities in a commercial supplier-purchaser relationship.
Dale Harris reflected on the visit:
"It was extremely interesting to tour the Cumberland Container facility and see the level of investment the company has made in its equipment over the past seven years. Establishing Cold Corr is a bold move — not many companies can say they are the first in the United States to bring new technology to market. Interpac is very much looking forward to manufacturing and installing their cold corrugator and getting it up and running."
Tennessee hospitality was, by all accounts, excellent, and Interpac looks forward to a strong working relationship with Cold Corr of Monterey as the project moves forward.
